About me

Hiba G. Isleem
Artist | Architect | Researcher

Hiba G. Isleem is a Palestinian artist, architect, and researcher working across experimental animation, moving image, installation, and archival practices. Her work explores how memory is fragmented, reconstructed, and reactivated through images, sound, objects, and material traces collected across generations.

Drawing from family archives between Palestine and the Gulf region, she works with VHS and Hi8 tapes, audio cassette recordings, photographs, oral histories, found objects, scans, and digitization processes as unstable materials that continue to shift across displacement, migration, and changing environments.

Through stop motion, collage animation, projection, sound, and immersive installation, her practice constructs spaces where images, voices, and materials carry emotional, spatial, and historical residue. Her works reconstruct fragmented memories through repetition, transformation, and movement between physical and recorded spaces.

Isleem was awarded the Prince Claus Seed Award 2024 and recently completed a fellowship at Akademie Schloss Solitude. Her works have been presented through exhibitions, screenings, and residencies across Palestine, Germany, Italy, Jordan, France, and Spain.
